It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday!!!

  • What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? Some of the fun exercise that I liked were the Animoto and the spiffytext which was Thing 21 and 9. I feel they brought out the creativity within me. I showed my frat brother the Animoto website and they made funny immature videos but they love the site as well.
  • How has this program affected your lifelong learning goals? This program allowed me to understand technology a bit more. It also showed that there is much more out there than goggle that can be useful in everyday life. I have become more skilled with being creative using technology.
  • Were there any take-a-ways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? No I don't think there were any surprises to me. I mean some of the task were difficult to follow and needed teacher's assistance but I manage to figure it out on my own.
  • What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? Thing to do different to improve this program is give detail instructions on some of the exercise. I found myself to be a lost child on most but they were all a learning experience.
  • How will what you have learned influence your practice as a teacher? It offered many alternate instructional strategies that I can use with my students and to better myself as a teacher.
  • How do you plan to keep up with new developments in web 2.0? Recommend a way that you have found to be useful.

Thing #23

I found a similar site that use 2.0 tools and it is http://sjlibrary23.blogspot.com/.
Some of the things on this site were similar to the activities that we had to complete in this class.

AS a future teacher I would use Creative Commons in a way to educate my students when to use copy right and also creative commons. I will also be taking ideas form the site with permission to help with my instructional strategies in the class. Understanding the law as a teacher is really important so you can be a great model for your students when its time for them to do research and collect data from the web.

Animoto was great!! I love making the creation that I did. My creation was based on my years in college from each year starting as a freshman and going on up.  I think this would be a great thing for students to do because many things happen throughout their life especially when their young so why not post it.

Thing #22

The name of my Live Binders are Science Resources, History of America, and Cell Reproductions. I choose to do different binders on different things. This will give students an option to explore the binder of their desire.

<iframe src="http://livebinders.com/play/play?id=1180831&present=true" height="500" width="100%">Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe>

My link is to the Science Resources Binder. I am not sure if I embedded it right but I choose this one because I love science. I have examples of things that can be done inside the classroom that are hands on for the students. It  has many activities that can be done in relation to many topics. This site was really to navigate too. One of my favorite things.

Thing #20

My experience with youtube has always and will always be a good one. There are many resources for us out there to download music on to our devices for free but I choose to still listen to Youtube. I think its offers various options to choose from. I mean I don't think that there is a video you could not think of that is not on youtube. It's also quite easy and fun to upload a video of your owns. I think my future students could view this and maybe do a project with this website.
I chose this video because there is a serious issue with the diverity gap with teachers vs students. This is a problem that needs to be solved within the next few years.

Thing #19

The benefits of social networking for teachers are classroom discussions that can be discussed outside the classroom. Social networks increase our social interactions overall and gives us opportunity to reach out and make social connections.
I am a member of the social network Instagram. Instagram is really not a beneficial site for teachers. It is more of a personal site if you like to take photos. I don't think its wise for teachers to post pictures or videos of their students on this app because some parents may not approve.
Social networks in general are not appealing to me. I feel they are irrelevant unless you have a lot of time on your hands.  However if they were use properly and with professional etiquettes they can be very useful.

Thing #18

I have had my twitter account for about three years now. So there isn't much new insight on the sight that I haven't seen. I have never researched hash tags before, I've just posted my feelings from times to times. However searching hast tags are interesting because a variety of results pop up. Personally I think social networking is important because the world is progressing with technology everyday and these tools are out here for the people to use, so we shoudl take advantage of them in a professional way. Understanding the website first would help a bunch, because posting the wrong thing on a social network can be seen by multiple parties that are looking at you and you don't even know.
Looking through the hash tags I was amazed of all the different kinds and all the subjects that were discussed. I had no disliking while looking through the hash tags.
Students can use these tools to send updates or questions regarding assigned works. Also parents can keep up with their child are doing and some things the student can work on.
